Little Peyton Payne is doing very well so far

If you have checked the caring bridge wesite about Peyton, you know that she is doing better everyday and they are past the 72 hour mark. Her little chest may be sewn up on Sunday and if it is and everything continues as is, she will be off the ventilator and should go home in about 10 days or 2 weeks.

I just cannot imagine going through that with that precious baby. I am thankful this Thanksgiving for the medical technology and doctors that perform these jobs today. My daughter Shani told me her heart was the size of a strawberry. OMG, how are they able to do the wonderful things they do. A week old baby on a ventilator and a pacemaker. Thank you Lord for all the wonderful medical miracles performed by excellent surgeons. Praise God!!! Thanks to everyone in blog-land for you prayers. Keep up the good work.

Please add this family to your prayers, and church prayer chains

Our son-in-law Jack works for this couple and they just had a baby last week. She is a precious baby girl and she will be having open heart surgery. It was scheduled for this morning, but has had to be moved due to the fact that two scrub nurses had to call in sick. The doctor did not want to perform this critical surgery without those nurses, so it was moved to tomorrow. Please keep this family in you prayers. I do not know that I would be able to go through this type of problem with a newborn baby. It is hard enough when they are so tiny and helpless. It really makes me realize how lucky I was with both of my pregnancies.
I know that they will appreciate all of your prayers!!! Thanks.

Thankful Thursday

I feel so inspired to participate in this type of blog, and the inspiration comes from so many of you fellow bloggers. I have been so busy with school that I have not taken the time to look around. Now, I realize how much it improves my attitude when reading some of your blogs. So here goes, today I am thankful for the wonderful hugs that I receive as a teacher. It is such a wonderful feeling to have a little elementary child come up and give you a hug. They are really in need of hugs and so are their teachers.

My fellow teachers and I in the elementary school had the privilege of participating in McDonald's, McTeacher Night during a three hour time teachers greet, sell trays of cookies, and help a little behind the counter. A portion of the sales during this time are given to our school. This is a great fund raiser and will help the teachers purchase some necessary supplies for their classroom.

Also, it was a lot of fun for all who came to eat and socialize. I think it went very well. It will be interesting to see how the fund raiser turns out.

I am thankful for all of my precious students. They are a challenge at times, but a true joy. I am also thankful for their parents and their support.

God Bless them all!!!!

Halloween !! Such a blast with a little one

We hadn't seen Wes in a couple of weeks so we decided to go over and spend the weekend with Shani and Jack to see Wes TRICK OR TREAT!! Of course he doesn't know about this yet, but he is always so good with whatever we take him to do. He is just the most precious little bundle of joy!! His mommy and daddy are so good and caring with him. They love him dearly. They are so patient and it makes him that way also. A friend of mine from school, brought me the cutest hand me down costume of a paint horse. So of course we had to make sure that Wes got to be the paint horse on his first Halloween. He can't eat any of the candy, so Gin-Gin and mama got to eat the candy. In Corsicana the merchants on the main street all give out candy and pictures are taken of the children in costume.
